Each religion over the years has had those who used religion to gain personal power and strength. We have them at home and they have them in their countries. What we need is the people who believe to stand up to the extreamests and say no! No you do not represent me. No you do not stand for my religion. When we do that they have no place to hide and lose the power they so crave.

If we were discussing a married couple, and the situation was so entrenched with hate and fear - we'd suggest that they divorce. While this isn't the same, it has similar overtones, and maybe "divorcing" ourselves from this country and their war is what's best for all concerned.

Without prisoners, no highjackings, no hostages to be changed for, "martyrs" shot on sight before they can enter a civilized world.
War was declared on terrorism and terrorists, in war one kills the enemy before they kill you.
Guantanamo should be closed, the vermin suiftly hanged and intelligenge gattering not from babbling idiots that go around with a Made in Taiwan plastic key to open the Paradise gates.

We are now in a state of Occupation, no longer a War. The Iragis are in the midst of a Civil War. Our Heroes should be home now. They have more than accomplished what they were sent to do. When our nation sticks its nose into a civil war, it doesn't end well for us. Our men in uniform are Heroes. They don't deserve the continued abuse they are being subjected to. There isn't anything to win now. They don't want us there, let them sink! We have been called enough names, hung on enough flagpoles. Bring our Heroes home and leave the enemy to sling mud at themselves. Great write Karla.

Can't argue with this one, Karla . . . Uh Ed, there are no one being killed these day, at least nothing like before, we are winning but some people really do not want us to win. So-called red-blooded Americans want us to lose this war not realizing the extent their lives will change if we do . . .

If you're talking about Iraq, we were, and are, the invaders. We allegedly invaded it to root out Weapons of Mass Destruction and Hussein. Once we found out there were no WMDs, and once we got rid of Hussein, I think we should have brought all our valiant men and women in uniform home. We will never 'force feed' a democracy down their throats, and our troops keep getting blown up by their extremists. And there very sadly seems to be no bloody end in sight.

Amen to that Karla. I am so sick of this whole insane affair it turns my stomach. As one who served training our young heroes, I can say first hand that until recently, most Iraqis wanted the coalition there, especially the woman and children. I still have many fairly new friends over there who extend their own tours just to be able to help. I myself lost my left knee because of the situation these radicals have put us in. Thank God for my Jon's sake that's all I lost. No, we're not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but we're still one of the best earthly hopes this world has in this sad day and age. I find it interesting that even by calling us that name, they're accusing us of being unfaithful to Allah -- a lover of PEACE! Even their women -- veiled threats. Actually I don't think they ever gave much care about peace (the extremists that is; and I do think either Islam is a false religion or in a very immature stage! though you never hear from the peaceful side.)

Still Iraq should never been destablized as a new Terrorist front; we had enough challenges in Afghanistan! But then I'm not the president. I hope our men can come home soon as I fear the situation will never change.

The extremist's way of thinking twists what was supposed to be good; it ruins it for all. It doesn't make any sense. Sad. The actions of a few condemn an entire people. No, we are not perfect, but we are free, freer than a society that imposes too many rules that don't benefit the majority. Very well done; brava!

Brava!!!Karla that's what makes me so sick, when our media and so many entertainrs etc, blame us and never say what the radical terrorists are doing, as if they are totally innocent. You have it right, and more people should see this. You don't have to love our presiden, our politics, our government, but for God sakes be sensible and see that we are the ones that were attacked,and stop giving them a pass on everything.
