Fire chugs from its nostrils,
coloring the sky red -
a dragon on the wing.

Lovely description of the picture. I saw a sun yesterday evening that this picture reminded me of--except the sun I saw was a brilliant huge round ball. What a glorious site it was!

In old days China it would have brough words of omen and disaster, like the sun being devoured by a spitting fire dragon.

I just watched Beowulf, and your poem and picture just reminded me of the huge fire breathing dragon in the movie.

A few days ago, I wrote "Rain Rain Rain" while the wind was knocking my trailer around. That night, when I got to work, they told me it had been a tornado passing over. They said it had touched down three times on the other side of town. They had heard about it from friends. They had not seen it themselves. I assured them that this was not a tornado - this was the StormSpinner's Dragon! LOL

Gorgeous pic and great verse!

Ted
