the enemy
stalks
silently
in the jungles
in the deserts
of my nightmares
i know hes there
but where--where--

humidity
presses down
like a livin thing
hard to breathe
gotta get outta here
gottagetouttahere
everythins closin in
hell on earth--

tracer fire lights
up the night
illuminates
i want to stay hidden
in the dark
but the tracer fire
points to me
there he is--

a loud noise
has me hittin the deck
oh damn
thats gunshots
oh God im hit
am i gonna die
please dont let me die
relive the panic--

i hear the children
cryin out
i see them in my mind
their faces
floatin in the air
why did you kill mom amd dad
why did you kill
me--

lost too damn many
of my friends
my buddies
i couldnt help them
now theyre on some wall
and im here
left with the memories
and the pain--

they call me crazy
because i cant
let go of the past
id love to let go
but what i saw
will haunt me
forever
oh God help me--

(((HUGS))) to our men and women in
the military...and their families.

they live with the nightmares every
day...

unless you've been where they've
been...don't condemn them.

(((thank you))), service men and
service women, for defending our
nation...i salute you!
