An evil sun laughs as it looks
at the steaming streets
Looking all around it smiles at its
victims,  wanting to escape five
months of searing heat.

Then it happens.  The evil sun
is replaced by a heavenly one.
The locust choir singing off key
soon turns to birds singing in harmony

People hibernating inside with A/C
Now come outside, new life to see.
Neighbors shaking hands with each other
Glad to finally enjoy other's company.

Trees that had died now come to life
Children can once more play outside.
And the grass that was once a shade of
brown, turns a glorious verdant color
no where to be found.

And as Fall departs and leaves
waft slowly to the ground, Autumn is almost done.
But people have hope, for life eternal, and
after a small winter chill, comes the joy of spring's love.
