Love's Lost Shadow

The essence of evil calls to me
the dragons of hell all know my name
The prince of past passions
stirs memories forgotten
The pain of the ancients
dwells in my shame

I am love's lost shadow
I am victory's affliction
I am solitude's reaction
a sacrificial addiction

The ancient of ages
has cast me aside
the angles of heaven
have bid me goodbye
The supernal beings of yesterday’s yore
know of my fame and beg me for more

Do you not know me
Do you not know my name
If you crave for my passion
I'll drive you insane

Satan, Lucifer, the Tempter of Man
I am yesterday's fallen
free from restrain
the perfect deceiver
and I know your name

My work is easy
my burden is light
I am a son of god
so you put up no fight
you pay no attention
though I lie in wait
deceiving your heart
with my time tested hate

I am love's lost shadow
I am victory's affliction
I am solitude's reaction
a sacrificial addiction

This is my fantasy... please try not to read religion into it.

Your work Lori really leaves a powerful effect. It makes you come back an review more. Continue to write. God was a poet the proverbs, Psalms. I find Lori that we as writers are the blessing from God. I can feel the peaceful calm. God bless

I think this poem could be excellent if you tightened it.

I like the following words:

The essence .... calls to me
...of hell all know my name
The ... of past passions

AWESOME:
The pain of the ancients
dwells in my shame

a sacrificial addiction

the angles ...
have bid me goodbye
...yesterday’s yore
know of my fame and beg me for more

GREAT:
If you crave for my passion
I'll drive you insane

Personally, would have enjoyed the poem more had you not then named it:

Satan, Lucifer, the Tempter of Man

I Like this:
I am yesterday's fallen
free from restrain
the perfect deceiver
and I know your name

INTERESTING:
deceiving your heart
with my time tested hate

I am love's lost shadow
I am victory's affliction
I am solitude's reaction
a sacrificial addiction

OH PLEASE JOIN ME LORI IN MY AGONY!
Oh devil dance! Oh devil dance!
Let's do the devil dance
Until we fall into a trance
As Satan eats our burning flesh
while we do the devil dance!

Shadows fall the light grows weaker,
Now darkness shrouds our evil keeper,
We shout his name and scream and cry,
But we're alone and want to die.

It's to late now there's no answer,
We turned our backs on the MASTER.
We cast our lot with the grim reaper,
Now he'll always be our evil keeper.

Yes I am crazy. She how your brilliant work makes me go cookoo???????? Bill Hugs

Makes you wonder... religion or no... will a man sell his soul for love? Can love even be there, without a God who is Love itself? Wonderfully inspired write!

Lori, great one here. I like the sense of mystery that the discriptions give to the subject.
