As I sit here this morning, reading my favourite authors, a little Robin is singing outside my open window. Her aria is enchanting.........

Poem Artwork

I can’t see her, but I know she’s there
A Robin nesting in her lair!
Cleverly veiled in the maple tree
An aria she sings just for me!

A more enchanting song I’ve never heard
And to think it comes from a little bird!
No human diva could ever compete
With the voice of this angel, so pure and sweet!

She sings of life, and the trees and the sun,
While she works to feed and house her young!
Her passion for life is loud and clear,
She sings with joy for all she holds dear!

Precious little Robin, my beautiful friend
I hope you will come back again!
Your music fills my heart and soul!
And your magnificent aria never grows old!

Nicely written Annabel. You had me hearing the beautiful song. Mornings are so beautiful with the sounds of the birds singing. My wife and I often sit on the deck of a morning and listen to the beauty that surrounds us. May God bless you every day of your life.

Very nice, Anna. We've got those hairy Woodpeckers coming through our yard, and sometimes I feel like their 'laughs' are ridiculing me. lol:) I always get such a sense of happiness from your poems. You lucky lady!

If only we humans were as passionate for life as this robin, what a wonderful world it might be.

Robins are sweet singers. Unfortunately, they eat earthworms! I used to think they were growing bigger every year and would be the size of chickens by the time I grew up. When I first moved here, they would flock to my deck in the spring. For many years now I have seen them except an occasional one. I assume when this area turned into suburb, their migratory pattern changed. Sweet write.

So sweet and lovely!
This stirs wonderful feelings and memories of baby birds that have hatched within view.

We have a mockingbird that love's to fire up before dawn. No complaint though. Our real aria artistis Nilla our poodle mutt mix. She sings each morning for her breakfast. Not to be outdone, Kali does what we affectionately dub the "banana twirl" Patrick

Beautiful poem, my lady . One thing I miss in Southern California are robins; we don't have them. Hummingbirds, yes, but robins, no.

".... She sings of life, and the trees and the sun, While she works to feed and house her young!..." Sounds pretty much like the author of those words. She lovingly writes of natures beauty..... and so much more.... Nicely done, my friend. Thanks Dick

This is just good writing, Anna. When a writer, or poet, can put a vision in the reader's thoughts as he reads their efforts then all that work has not been in vein. This is one of those beauties. That musical robin will be in my thoughts off and on all day, and so will the one who allowed me to venture into hers by writing this poem.
