They're always welcome in my yard!

Stoically you stand your ground
Against all odds you reign!
Although they never look at you
With anything but disdain!

Splashes of yellow upon bright green
You cling to Mother earth!
They seek to purge you from their lives
But they don’t know your worth!

Nature never makes mistakes,
Everything fits somewhere!
But they don’t think that you belong
And that simply isn’t fair!

Modest little yellow blooms
You’re welcome here with me.
Not only do you colour my world
But you make delicious tea!

A fine ode to a fine plant that deserves to be "honoured" as you have done, Anna. Thank you! And the dandelions thank you as well, I'm sure. ☻ Love and best wishes,

Regis

Ed mentioned your poem, and so I checked, it is refreshing to still find souls of such beauty, there is much that you say, an inborn wisdom well expressed, loved it. Jasmin Horst

I share your sentiments. You must share the tea recipe with me. I could make gallons!

They seek to purge you from their lives,
But they don’t know your worth!

Indeed, most do not, especially in these horrific times when so many now panic when they see just one on their lawns and they rush off to grab the toxic herbicides to kill them.

I wrote a poem a few years back called 'Dandelion Dawn.' I always welcome them on my lawn too, and I have had Dandelion Tea.

Springing to life! They are really pretty when you take the time to appreciate them. I like your philosophic statement that "everything fits somewhere." You'll have to share the method of making tea.
A handful clutched in a sweaty little hand is a thing of great beauty, not to be ignored or laid aside, lest they wilt and lose their charm.

So cute Anna and oh, I agree! I like an unruly garden, a yard scattered with flowers and weeds and a safe place for the animals and rabbits to take a healthy bite to eat.
Blessings,
Christine

Love the colour of yellow expressed beautifully in your poem.
A handful of dandelions brought in by the kids and the grandkids
always with a smile. A cup of tea sounds great. A wine can also
be made from dandelions.

Like the smooth flow and rhythm of this one Anna, but I really love the "Dandelion" colored background.

Nice touch, Dick

Really? Dandelions can be plucked and made into tea? I've heard of it, of course, but never really believed it. However, really cute poem here ol' friend.
