A bit of humor for the handyman.

 THE DRILL

I can be shallow,

Or I can go deep.

When I’m working,

I leave shavings in a heap.

I always hang out with my best friend Chuck,

We have a bond that’s close and tight.

Not only is our friendship secure,

But he holds the key to doing it right.

With variable speeds I turn in circles,

That’s just how I run.

And I’ve got lots of torque,

To make sure the job gets done.

I have many uses,

From construction to exploring.

I work well under pressure,

Although I can be a bit boring.

I can work at most any angle,

It takes a steady hand and skill.

So if making a hole is what you need,

You can count on me, I know the drill.

Handymen are those who don't know how to do things very well, so they do everything.

Only you can take the boring drill and turn it into star poetry. Kudos for your wordsmithing on this one.

Only you, Michael, can make a drill into an interesting poem. Enjoyed this one for its sheer inventiveness (and playfulness). Great stuff.
