Time for another trip back to the little bunky in the woods where nighttime is magic!!!

Poem Artwork

When shadows fall at the end of the day
Just before twinkling stars light up the ebony sky
The forest comes to life as nocturnal creatures
Join in merry dances to the sweet music
Of the peepers and crickets lively tunes

Vibrant melodies flutter through the trees
As the moon rises to light up the scene
Sleepy songbirds retire, but night owls awaken
After their daytime slumber in summer’s heat
For they cannot resist the feral soiree

Squirrels and racoons clap their hands
As tree gnomes and wood nymphs
Peek at them from the dense brush
Surrounding the dance floor
Where all manners of creatures have gathered

And into the night the party continues
Joyous creatures unfettered by human meddling
Enjoying their celebration of all that is sacred
In a place where life makes perfect sense
Just the way Mother Nature intended

I just returned from a little northwood get-away myself, and I couldn't agree more - Feral Soirees are the best!

To be and to listen. to close your eyes and to see the sounds of the night creatures that are all about and to spiritually join in the tunes of their lives. How beautiful and alive with the life of the nighttime creatures you are Anna, my dear friend. Lovely words for a time of loving peace.

Viva la Nature!
After dusk it gets more exciting
and feral...and beautiful.
Enjoy the way you Annabel guided us
on a journey...to sense and feel...
deeper than..the wonderful scene
you greatly painted...itself.
Eloquently captivating. Isabella.

Another light and joyful romp in the woods. Here in Florida among the pythons and the alligators, the same thing is called a mid nite snack. We are the entrée. Loved it! :)
