Haven't penned much poetry in a while...burdens weighed me down...but the brisk Autumn breeze today is truly inspirational...

Poem Artwork

A brisk wind whips frenzied waves
Salt spray tastes bitter on my lips
The beach deserted, tourists gone
No more blissful weekend trips

Wildly pounding white capped waves
First a hiss then a frantic roar
An errant seagull hangs on the breeze
Does he wonder what I came here for?

The sand cold and damp between my toes
Wool sweater keeps the chill at bay
But I don’t care; my spirit soars
And my heart’s like a child at play

With wild abandon I race along
Dancing in and out of the tide
My burdens lift almost instantly
And my mind is open wide

I find solace in the feral pulse
Of waves upon the sand
And I can bear my soul to the sea
Because I know she understands

Dear Annabel,

Your new "Solace" poem speaks volumes to me. It's the kind of poem you want to read again and again. There are less than one percent that effect me in that way. This poem is certainly one of your best and my favorite of all.

Peace, Love and Abundant Blessings,

John Michael Domino

You have a wonderful way of letting go of all the burdens that bear on us.

Annabel, Your poem is quite invigorating for sure!
I could feel that ocean waves and the coolness of the wind!
Lovely way to start my day!

Peace, love and light,

Some days, Anna, my far northern friend. Some days the feel of the life about us brings out of the shadows and reopens the beauty of life. Having gone through the same heartbreak that I know you had, and still are, sometimes the "where" and the "now" can bring our spirits out from beneath that shadow and return us to the beauty of life. So good to hear from you again, Anna.

Soar On, and for me as well, it is Nature that soothes my heart and soul.

Good to hear that the walk on the almost Autumn beach chased away your burdens, Anna. Sometime it takes the simplest things to chase our dark away.
