This piece is written in a form called a Decastitch and was inspired by the unrelenting fog we have dealt with for days.
Fleeing Autumn
The fog hangs, heavy,
Upon sighs of fleeing autumn.
Like dripping sorrow
It bleeds colorless leaves
Somehow forgotten when brilliance
Painted the landscape.
Misty shadows blur horizons,
Weeping from low-flung clouds,
As though they too mourn the passage
Of season that gives way to winter.

The change of seasons has always been a time of reflection for me, especially when Autumn gives way to Winter. I have always perceived it as a time of mourning -a falling away of sorts. I love the way you portray Autumn fleeing:
"Like dripping sorrow
It bleeds colorless leaves
Somehow forgotten when brilliance
Painted the landscape."
I like the form and the photo of "Misty shadows." Excellent write!

A timely and neat wrap up of seeing one season give way to another. I like your words chosen... soft and liquid change to harsher times.
Good one, dear friend.

Living on the shores of the North Atlantic I live with fog and the mysteries it seems to attract. 'Sometimes it is a blessing at others a curse but it is always interesting if nothin else.
Haunting Myrna, as was the same fog I encountered here last week as I made the drive to Borth Carolina...but you are the one who has captured it.
