Did they say ... rain? Is it possible,
a break in the heat? Won't believe
it until I see it falling from the clouds,
but the thought is enough to twitch
feet into wanting to run outside; they
want to dance in thanksgiving and
praise. 105 the past two afternoons:
Lord, we need relief. Send Your rain!
I love the pic as much as the poem. Ah--you're a fellow Ohioan--at least at this moment. Boy, does Ohio have weather with a capital W! My own homeplace is near Xenia. I miss the DRAMA. ;)
Fill the bath tube with cold water, add aromatic salts, a few frop of lavender oil, light a couple of those cute small glass candle light, have a ice cold Coors (or two) or a glass of chilled white wine, and a tape or CD of soft Willie Nelson or Johnny Cash crooning, after ten minutes of soaking give me a call, I rub backs the way you won't believe...and you will purr, "105 degrees? what 105 degrees?"
I shall call out to the Universe and ask for rain to come to your town. Are you ready? Amazing picture, it's very awesome!

Karla, echoes of 'send my roots rain' albeit in a different context...and I sympathise with the current plight, it can not be pleasant. Try to stay cool and I hope the rains come today.

I will pray you get rain otherwise stay in the tub, it is the only place to run unless you livenear a beach, no stick with the tub. Thank you for sharing Karla.

i agree 100%. That's a beautiful picture, Karla. I think many of us throughout the country empathize with your poem..and a well written on it is. Of course, there are others with rain, rain, go away....
Here is only 90 degrees, but humid and hot enough. Haven't had rain in a few days, maybe it is on it's way soon. Staying inside in nice cool air conditioned place. Hope you get relief from the heat down there in Texas soon.
