Early news from recent relocation to Napa, CA from Atlanta, GA It is 12:30 pm here on the West Coast. I just came in from eating my lunch of a Chicago Hot Dog and chips on my little patio with Bear. I looked up in the blue sky and there, straight up I could see the quarter moon. WOW! It always amazes me when I can see the moon and sun during the day.
I am here 19 days now…seems so much longer. The movers arrived one week ago today with my things!! Some items were damaged, mostly minor, and after opening all the boxes the movers packed I believe there is one box missing. Have to contact them with all this info. Anyway…we are more settled. Although I don’t have a TV, my little table top stereo w/ cd player arrived and able to listen to music, so it feels more like home now.
With my house still unsold in Georgia, the finances are shrinking so am looking sooner for a job to support us.
Of course, I would really like my writing career to take off and for it to financially support us. Lot to do in that regard before that can happen. I would so love to do some exploring in my new world, here in the Valley and surrounding areas, to photograph much and be more inspired in my writing. Will have to take wee little trips on weekends, or occasionally during the week while I don’t have a job, and in between the last stages of getting settled and working on book 2.
Yesterday I went to my insurance company office here in Napa and after changing car insurance here and figuring out renters insurance I was informed they have to ask me if I want Earthquake Insurance, and if not I have to sign a waiver that I don’t!!!
And I did not know there is a fault line running through Napa!!! Now talk about scaring the _____ out of me…yikes! Anyway I have to decide by tomorrow and let them know…wow! Do I or don’t I …that is the big question.
People here are very nice though. Have met a couple new friends already and gone out to dinner with one, and tonight met another in Sonoma to attend the Tuesday Night Farmers Market in the town square with music, food, lots of fresh produce and flowers to buy.
