My heart is heavy this Memorial Day 5/25/2008 6:27:05 PM
I am feeling a tremendous sadness and pain filling me up inside, so much that I feel I will burst. I have been watching the news and documentary shows (or they call them magazine program, something like that) the last few days. The state of this world is on a speedy fall into a black hole because of the “plain and simple” GREED of some, which down the line is causing the pain and loss - devastation for other’s lives.
And now, watching the Memorial Day Concert in DC…my pain and sadness fill me even more…WHY OH WHY do we have to kill each other, not only in every day life, but the wars…FOR OIL, FOR POWER, FOR CONTROL, FOR MORE MONEY.
Isn’t it bad enough that the natural disasters…earthquakes, tornados, fires, Tsunamis, are killing many thousands and leaving others with everything gone, destroyed.
Why can’t we put the money being paid for wars into cleaning up from these disasters, finding more people under the rubble before they die, to help those alive who lost everything to rebuild for them and give them a new life…NOT making them wait years i.e. those still waiting 3 years after Katrina, and waiting.
You may think I don’t know what I am talking about. I am a simple person, I dream of people loving each other, or at the very least accepting other’s differences and getting along.
