Blogs by Ronald Dondiego Poetry 12/12/2004 11:11:12 AMSometimes I think that the greatest poetic moments are never found in words. Emerson said, "Surely you don't expect to describe a sunset." You can try. But the point is the moment you try you might lose the bliss and the feeling of glory that is really quite transcendent. It's like the word God. I really think that infinity is much better and less limiting. Otherwise, I get the image of an old guy who's very judgemental, and who's waiting to swallow up all of us sinners for our mistakes. If we knew better we would do better. But the illusion confuses the reality, and reality is really quite amazing.
