Blogs by Lawrance G Lux New Employment Figures 4/1/2004 1:05:21 PMEconomics and Administration have been busy revamping almost all of the indexes of Economic forecasting in the last couple years, with statement that the old forecasting tools were outdated and generating false imagery. The false imagery mainly concerns the fact old forecasting models do not present an upbeat, dynamic economy.
The Labor figures are to be released tomorrow, but were delayed because of transfer to the new indexes. Why is there need for the immediate transfer to the new indexes? Why could they not wait for the new month's readings, and publish the current month's readings in the old forecasting methodology? The reason is simple: The old Forecasts states the Economy lost Jobs again, some rumors are of about 27,000. The new models are designed to say the Economy gained about 14,000 Jobs.
