Do I detect disdain from my fellow writers? I belong to a few writers groups here on the web, and one particular group (whose name I will not mention - but not located here at the Authors Den), are particularly snobbish when it comes to the printed word.
While I have spent the last five years slogging away at my manuscript, I found myself at a crossroads when it came to publishing it. I chose not to send it to any publishers at all, for the simple reason that - I did not want to! Yet, I find that even after writing, editing, publishing and marketing my own book (which by the way is selling!), I am looked on with disdain by certain writers who do not consider me a "published author".
Well, I hate to burst their bubble, but once I put this blog up - it's published! Anything that you write on the internet is published, therefore if it is in print, bound and on a bookstore shelf (which my book is) - it is published!
