Some people deal with grief in different ways. Mine is humour. Okay, I know this is purely coincidence, but the last 3 people I have given my book to - have died! Granted, the first person I gave the book to (a very dear friend of mine) was dying of terminal cancer, as was the second person I gave it to and the third person was 95 years old - but c'mon! I'm starting to get a little nervous here! It's like that movie The Ring, only with my book!
Actually, the first person I gave my book to never really got a chance to read it as she was too ill, so technically she doesn't really count (unless just giving it to a person makes them keel over!) , but #2 and #3 did read it and they seemed to really like it. In fact, #3 said reading my book had lifted her bout with depression. All of these people were friends of mine by the way. They weren't just acquaintances. They were very dear to me - so I'm feeling just a little weird right now.
I guess I should be grateful that my book is making an impact on people. But c'mon! This is NOT the kind of impact I was looking for!
