The government of Myanmar should be ashamed of itself for witholding aid to it storm stricken citizens, and mainly for not putting international politics aside and accepting foreign aid to help its people to help themselves. It reminded me of the terrible time during hurricane Katrina when FEMA kept church-based associations from bringing aid and medical relief to the storm ravaged people here in New Orleans. I remember listening to the radio in my home and hearing the pastors condemn the government and President Bush for not allowing them into the impacted areas to provide goods and relief to the people who were suffering from the intense heat, lack of water, food, and medical attention.
