all day was sunny and warm here in new orleans. Everyone in the city has evacuated. It seems so because its as empty as it was during katrina. Around noon, a brisk wind pickeed up, bringing in some clouds, so I took advantage of it and grilled some ribs for supper. There will not be any Labor Day celebrations this year. Again, like last time, the emphasis is on evacuation of the entire city. Everyone must leave, or, if caught on the street will be arrested and sent to the State's penitentiary at Angola, La. as a potential looter. Unlike katrina, this time I'm prepared. I have water, food, and a generator to keep stuff frozen. When the power goes out, I'll only use the generator for three hours, enough to keep perishable foods freash. During katrina, I had to survive on the hoof. Right now, as evening falls, its a bit windy. I'm sitting in the yard with my lap-top on my lap and typing this. I feel some drops of rain on the wind. It's expected to get pretty gusty around here overnight, but we've missed a close one here. Before going to bed, I'll say a prayer for the people in Terrebone. It's beginning to rain in sweeps now, so I'll rap this up and go inside.
