when you give up before the game starts, you've already lost. hurricane Gustav haven't even reached the Gulf of Mexico and people have already begun an arduous evacuation process. That's not preparation, it's overreaction. Most news channels are broadcasting their gloom and doom forecasts without considering the weather pattewrns that could steer or block or could sheer a hurricane to weakness If that hurricane don't reach Louisiana shores, it could be a dngerous thing because it could create the Chicken Little or cry wolf affect where the next so-called preparation would not be taken serious, much like before Katrina when two hurricanes were predicted to hit New Orleans, people went into shelters and evacuated, and the hurricanes didn't even come close to the city. When Katrina entered the Gulf, nobody was alarmed, not even by its size, and went about their business until it hit. But that Chicken Little affect can be just as dangerous as braving the hurricane itself because it forces you to lower your guards. Gustav wasn't even a hurricane before the Louisiana Gov. Bobby-boy Jindal was telling people to "get out now! Yesterday was too late!" Homeland security Jerry Sneed is telling people to do as their told, like we;re little children who need to be taken by our little hands. And now, our so-called leaders is saying that if we're caught on the street after evacuatuions, people will be arrested and sent detained in the State's penitentiary! I would rather die by a hurricane than suffer such indignity.
