I was reading back my new story, House of Spiders and one thing I was thinking was, oh dammmmnnnnn, this one is going to really f*** with some people. This one is for the competition at Ebooks On Disk. Hasan wrote one as well for the collection and his is one that is frightening as hell too. The theme they are looking for is a reality tv show format. The story I wrote was a contribution to the vampire myth in a way I can only pull it off, it is related to Insect. This is one that I was thinking, "shit this one can be made into something a hell of a lot longer." I have to thank Joni Latham and Terry Vinson for encouraging me to take the work to the next level. I truly hope this one makes the cut, if not I am going to put it in my own book. Joni is working on a story for this as well but she is still playing around with the idea and making her notes. I think I planted the bug in her for something like this to happen. When I got done writing the story, I had this big shit eating grin on my face. I think I created something that is going to be a longer story later on. I have this notion it is going to be a 10 page short story if I kept working on it. They are right about Reality shows being spawning ground for ideas; I have seen a few of them and when I was taking with Hasan on msn we were tossing around ideas for stories. Mine just came like nothing -- faster than seeing writers who write fanfiction come up with ideas for their stories. I think it was hearing from my mother on the guestbook that gave me the push to do this new story. The story that I found which the author encouraged me to try my hand at one is titled War Party. The one I wrote inspired by James O'Bar is titled, "Ghosts of War." It was my first time writing a historical fiction and doing my own take on creation that James O'Bar did after the death of his wife.
