Approaching darkness consumes the soft glow Of fading daylight Parting clouds portend the inevitable star show Distant thunder murmurs softly, betraying a storm now passed Air infused with sticky vapor Chirping crickets keep time with bullfrogs along the shoreline Challenging the hush of the steaming woods Evening has begun
