Is there EVEN a way to change the earth back to its former state or replace animals that are now extinct due to mankinds shortcomings, are we leaving earth to be a barren place for our progeny...do most really EVEN care...Ed

Inspired by Mr. Ed's write today, " Is Everything Gonna Die?"

Poem Artwork

Can we EVEN change the future,

Can we EVEN become our past,

Can we EVEN keep our planet,

From becoming a barren wasteland,

For our progeny to live to the last...

Will we EVEN live to achieve this fruition,

Will we EVEN see in our times a realization,

Of our world becoming one with peace,

Of our earth EVEN becoming less than a cheap piece...

Will our oceans ever EVEN again be clean,

Will our glaciers re-grow EVEN a little,

Will our trees become rich and thick EVEN partly like they were,

Will mankind EVEN become partly one with our earth,

Will we ever, EVEN, live again in a clean scene...?

Ed, guess who's go to laugh itself sick after we all are gone?
Mother Earth can be such a Mean Momma!

I keep saying Ma Earth does not give a shit about mankind. We're not even on the radar. In half a billion years the martians will pump our primeval goo to fuel their spaceships. Patrick

Damn, Ed. This is the strongest thing you've written in a long time. I'm a good bit more hopeful than you but you've said it so much better than I ever could.

Is there EVEN any hope? YES! Fortunately our kids and grandkids have a better sense about taking care of our Home than our past several generations did. When money is no longer King, we will live again.

Peace,
Dayvid

maybe I am an optimist but I PREFER to believe in our children and the changes they have started...it may not seem like a lot but neither did the protest marches of the sixties seem like a lot and look what they accomplished...we are the teachers of our young...let us teach them better...

Sadly, mankind is always changing, evolving, moving forward. Too bad common sense doesn't follow in our footsteps.

Cheers,
Dan

I used to believe there was an Even, Fifty/Fifty Chance, of doing just that. But I sadly don't, anymore. We haven't made any progress at all, since that very First Earth Day, Forty Years Ago Now, when so many of us had vowed to make our world, a better place.

And as our human population now soars ever higher and higher, we are now rapidly becoming like locusts, greedily devouring everything left on this planet. I truly feel for that concerned young boy in my poem, today.
