i don't like war either, but if it means liberating the people of iraq from the dictatorship of saddam hussein, then it is worth it. unfortunately, people die; and war respects NO one! good write about how war affects EVERYONE and what happens. love, your twin, karen lynn. (((HUGS))) :(

I'm all for true self-defense if we are attacked for no reason, but I want America to be on the highest moral ground - not emulating the enemy, becoming the enemy of all the things we declare to believe in and respect. America's war arsenal is the largest and most devastating in the world. The problem now is that there is no competition, no "balance of power." This president believes that "right makes right." Therefore, personally, I cannot "support" this president. He speaks of the terror inflicted by Saddam against dissidents, but ignores the USA arsenal and the fact that in our not-too-long-ago history, our military tested chemical/bio weapons on its OWN ENLISTED CITIZENS. (Project Shad) ...
hypocrisy breeds contempt, and contempt will breed more violence. This is not a path to peace...Our government makes weapons, sells weapons, and has shunned all treaties to limit weapons... is it any wonder that other countries wish to follow our lead? God may forgive those who know not what they do - but can we expect forgiveness for those who do?

Well said Karla and I agree, I hate war, but I hate the thought of peace under a regime like the ones of the Saddam Husseins of this world, even more!

Very powerful Karla. None of us like war. I'm an old warrior who has hung up my guns. However always remember this. We must accept life for the good and bad. If it weren't for the warrior, the one who doesn't mind picking up a gun, none of us would be here to complain or dislike war. Now in these trouble times just be glad that the bombs aren't falling over your home. I would not want to be in Iraq now. Neither would I want to be one of the soldiers. I survived my warrior days and am glad. Hugs, good thoughts, and Be tuff. Grady
