There may be rhyme but certainly no reason... ...except perhaps to elicit a smile or two.

Poem Artwork

Frock!

There once was a young friar named Brock
Who was exceedingly fond of his frock
But the abbott decreed
That from pride he’d be freed
So Brock hid his frock in a crock

There once was a fellow named Randy
He had a soft spot for candy
In good times or bad
Whether glad or sad
Randy's candy was handy

There once was a poor arborist
Who developed a rather sore wrist
The pruning was arduous
The employment tenuous
So now he’s become a florist

There’s a nanny whose name is Anni
Her senses are quite uncanny
There’s no point denying
She can tell if you’re lying
This nanny is also a granny

There’s a fellow hailing from Leeds
Who sells his own brand of beads
When they don’t sell well
He begins to yell
And his beads he scatters like seeds

There once was a letter carrier
Who came upon a barrier
Of the canine sort
So he had to abort
His mail delivery to Lord Harrier

There once was a crooked police chief
Who gave folks a great deal of grief
But our Ms. Porter
A fine young reporter
Exposed him as a liar and thief

A local farmer has chickens
That consulted a group of wiccans
They’ve learned how to read
They even drink mead
And discuss Shakespeare and Dickens

A fellow by the name of Ryker
Was a complete and confirmed hiker
But one day he fell
For a cycling belle
Now Ryker is a tandem biker

I once went on a nature walk
It was my intention to talk
With the birds and the bees
The flowers and the trees
And a hawk that did nothing but squawk

These are really humorous Reg. You are really the King of the Limerick, and you write them so well and so lighthearted, and soft in tone. You made me smile today Reg, and that is saying a lot. Thank you for sharing.

May the Lord Bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and walk by your side. With love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister Barbie

I like the one about Randy,
As I too like all kinds of candy,
But being a diabetic I can't eat the sugar,
So I guess I just better out of my nose eat a buggar...(disgusting, LOL)

And don't ya just hate hawks when they squawk,
Sea gulls aren't much better but being that on the sand they walk,
It is much easier to of them stalk...ed
