Greetings

Well, it seems that I haven't been here for a while. I have been feeling a bit down over the last couple of weeks. Nothing I can put my finger on, Just lacking in motivation. What I need is a break from the routine of living within this cage called life, every day life that is. Everything seems to be routine, nothing changes.

The big thing on the Box at the moment is the Olympics and all the scandals about Drugs etc. The way I figure it, if you can't control the use of Performance Enhancing Substances, make them compulsory, that way it is an even playing field.

I do wonder about how many people could be fed with the money that is used to stage the Games. I could do a lot, with just ten per cent of the thirty or so Billion dollars wasted, so a few people can win races, I could feed and house a lot of homeless people. Don't get me wrong, I admire the courage and stamina of the Athletes.I just figure there must be a cheaper way of doing things.

Last night my sixteen year old Daughter was mugged. Nothing serious, but it did give her quite a shock. What did they get? A pair of two dollar thongs. They did not want her Mobile Phone, seems it was to old, didn't have all the fancy gadgets like camera and etc. Seems the crims are getting fussy.

 I should explain for the benifit of the wider audience. In Australia, a thong is not a Swimsuit, Thongs are footwear that one would wear at the beach. I believe that some may call them "Flip Flops?" Anyway, as I was saying, she is a bit shook up by the episode. On the bright side, she may not go out as often, for while anyway.

On the weather front, We have not had a decent rainfall for six months, the ground and the under growth is as dry as a desert. The Bushfire season has actually started four months early. There are currently five serious fires within twenty miles of me. At the moment the fires have been restricted to Bushland and grass. No houses lost or lives lost. But on seeing the mess in Florida from the Cyclone, I'm feeling lucky. I feel for the people who have lost everything, including loved ones, to the rage of nature. I am surprised by the construction materials in some of the Houses. One would think that in an area where such phenomena occur on a regular basis, the local authorities would demand stronger construction codes.

I sometimes wonder that America is such a savage country. What with Twisters, Hurricanes, Cyclones, Floods from spring meltings. I am glad I don't live there. Apart from that, the Taxes would break me.

Well Gentle reader, I am feeling a bit tired at the moment. It is 1.30 am and my eyes are seeing double, (No I have not been drinking).
