Greetings gentle reader.

The school holidays are progressing slowly. So far Ashley has managed to stay at her friends place for two nights, and today young jeffery will go and stay at his friends house for a couple of day. His friend Josh will then spend a couple of days here.

The only problem is that the children seem to want to spend all their time playing games on their Playstations. All attempts to get them interested in other things seem to be met with strong opposition. On the other hand, I would rather they be doing that than be out borrowing cars and etc, as is what many of their school friends are doing.

Both of the younger ones keep asking to use the computers, which we do allow on occasion, however yesterday Ashley somehow entered a site to p[lay checkers, which on the surface apeared harmless. However the site also had a chatroom attached to it, and some of the responses to here messages were not suitable for a 12 year old girl to view. Luckily the computers are positioned in the family area, and as such we are able to monitor what is going on.

Young Jeffery keeps pushing to have an internet connected computer in his room, but I do not believe that a child should be able to connect in privacy. The incidence of "Rock Spiders" ie; paedophiles, on the net, seems to be on the increase. As such, I believe children need to be protected from these Animals, or should I say insects.

Mojo the cat has finally given birth to four kittens. She did need help, but in the end all things turned out okay.

Discrimination?

I am listening to radio while i do this, and a caller has just brought up an interesting point to ponder.

The point refers to "Dress Code" of Clubs, Pubs etc. It seems that the drees code for male patrons is rather strict in that a male must not wear shorts, thongs, (as in footwear), T/Shirts, Singlets and etc. Whereas female patrons do not seem to have an enforcable dress code to enter these premises. A female may enter wearing open toe thongs or sandles, Shorts, and the shorter the better, Skirts that display underwear, Singlet tops and T/Shirts. In some beach areas they may enter wearing only a thong bikini.

Now I am not one to go anywhere in just my underwear, or go to club in shorts and T/shirt. But one is forced to ask why the freedom of choice is taken away. Maybe it's because the males who make the rules like the idea of half naked women graceing the bar with their presence. I'll have to admit that it is preferable to the alternative, half naked men in the bar.

Hmmm... I think I have just answered my own question. Oh well, back to the drawing board.
