My film work is going to be tangled up with my writing. Can't separate them. And don't be surprised if graphic arts intrude from time to time -- they're good therapy.
I sold my first photo on dreamsTime.com for a $0.50 royalty. In theory, micropayments are going to take over the world. After 50 or 100 of these, it starts turning into real money. Just an extra trickle out there, working for me. A good site.
I went to a crew call tonight for a film project down at UCSD. See gmwmovie.com for details. It was odd. I could just wander in and chat with the director and producer. No need to be nervous.
I've done projects, they've done projects, we have stuff to talk about. I spent 75 days on a big-budget set watching things get done right. Hopefully I came out sounding competent instead of crazy. Hard to tell.
3 of my improv group showed up for the audition, too. It was good to see them again. We really haven't gotten together since november. But when we do meet, we help out, we develop things -- it's good for everyone. We need to tie down 2 more 5-minute skits, then have an audio session at my house, and the group will have a full CD of comedy finished and ready to sell! See theActorsPlayground.com for more info.
That reminds me. 2 sundays ago, I went to a little, friendly writers group meeting a few miles from here. 4 writers, a couple manuscripts to talk about. It was a good thing. Once again, it helps to have people to talk to. And we left the meeting promising to work on new material for next time. Anything to get the brain started.
Over the weekend I went over final proofs for a set of board games I designed for rakgraphics.com -- and they should be going to press any time now. I designed the game play, board layout and strategy, and RAK added his cool characters and color to them. I'm really looking forward to seeing these!
Oh yeah, a warning - I also design games and write gaming articles. Be prepared for anything!
