Tonight I tackled a quick rewrite of a 1900-word short romantic film script for a fellow filmmaker. He almost filmed it last spring, but it got bumped to this spring, and now he has a more solid script to work with. Fun stuff.
I have been brainstorming for those four 20-minute crime noir films. Was writing notes at that crew call last night, while waiting to be interviewed. I think I have two stories that will run two parts each with a cliffhanger between. I called the director, pitched the ideas, got an okay to roll with them. Now, if I can just hook myself into the story, the rest should just happen ...
I emailed a few more freelance writing job leads, but expect my usual 95% no response rate. Why do I even bother? One was for a business book, which sounded good at first, until I found out that it was about outsourcing IT departments, which is exactly what sent my programming career down the toilet. NO THANKS. Stupid penny pinchers.
