Th Coming Storm 2/29/2012 10:22:52 PM
I woke up with sunshine beaming through my window. The color of my curtain was colored yellow; and I peeped out and saw a very bright day, indeed. The barren tree right across was lively like a newly awakened sparrow, alive and not dead from the winter dreary. I drove out with a tune in my song onto Rickreal, Oregon, where I was assigned for two days. As I was driving, birds everywhere seemed to abound; and I whispered a small ditty:
Let the birds fly
Let the trees grow
Let its branches cradle a lone nest
While allowing the marching storm trek to the east.
In a day, where part of the day has it bright side to the east, the west harbored a storm. It was moving quietly, quite foreboding. I wondered how fast it was moving but the skies had not yet been enveloped by its dreaded clouds. I wondered how the birds will do; will they seek shelter in the trees that dot the fields or will they take it on naked to the elements? Will they continually fly in circles as they always do or settle on a place in a safe harbor?
My life has experienced a series of storms. But how does one navigate around these storms?
The problems of life have its purpose but they do occur. They occur in the most importuned time like storms quietly taking over a wonderful day. You could not avoid it lest one had learned from past experience and apply what they learned from it. The problems that do beset us are facts of life; some have it easy while some others had these storms affect one’s life. It just becomes harder and harder, as one goes through living.
We are like birds deciding where they would go as they circle the skies. Will we succumb to the same old places we find consolation or venture out to meet these challenges? I find it very safe to seek safe harbor with wise individuals, wise that they went through life ready to do battle with the elements. They don’t hide. They face their problems and try to solve whatever troubles them. Mind you, smart people are not the ones you go through for you may not know whether they had experience in the problems that besets you. They may have the academic rigors of solving a problem. But everything is just that, academic. They don’t have the certitude of events actually occurring in their lives. But wise individual talks from the heart. They experienced it. They lived it. That is why wisdom counts for a great deal. Wise people knows what to do next whenever the problem occurs, that one day, they already know that the problems will be resolved.
Problems that I face make me wiser. But there are wiser men (and women.) Even though the western skies spell trouble, I still subscribe to the eastern part of the horizon, that all will end up well and light again will predominate.
