This rings true on both sides of the Atlantic. And, translating this into the MJ Memorial Service today, it has been most commented on by our British media that the mood of attendees is more akin to yet another feel-good show rather than that of the funeral of a friend. We watched the 4th of July parade and the fireworks from my balcony, and I was very attentive about everything. The honor guard, the clowns, the politicians in their vehicles, the bands playing their selections, and here we had children on bicycles in various costumes. For a small town we had a good parade that lasted 2 hours. The floats were nice too.
It is a very sad reality though that some people just go to these events to get together with old chums, or get drunk. I have seen both. Thank you for sharing some of the other things we have forgotten too. And thank you for your comments on my poems.

Yes, and let's beat the Michael Jackson dead horse some more while Congress continues to sell us down the river passing tyrannical climate bills, bailouts, covert ops destabilizing Iran, expansion of the war into Pakistan, federalization of all water, federalization of all food, etc. God Lori it never ends.
