More limerick nonsense from yours truly...

Poem Artwork

Fudge!

An eccentric and senile old judge
Has an intense weakness for fudge
His verdict once reached
It should not be breached
But one nudge with some fudge and he’ll budge

There once was a fellow named Mowat
Who was known as a famous poet
But his verse was bizarre
Strictly for the tsar
The plain folks would never know it

There once was a gal named Mandy
She thought that candy was dandy
With such a sweet tooth
At her kissing booth
It was known that candy was handy

A man who claimed to be a Norse
Was seen to fall off his horse
It was then he declared
If some of you cared
You’d help me get back on of course

There once was a dolly named Polly
She came with her own little brolly
She could smile and speak
She could even squeak
But Polly’s price was pure folly

There once was a fellow named Wong
He wanted to write his own song
This he did at last
But he was aghast
When he saw that each note was wrong

There’s a boy who sits on a stool
He plays with his favourite tool
It’s some kind of wrench
He found in a trench
He would like to use it in school

There once was a lad from Vancouver
He wanted to be a mover
He was fast and strong
It did not take long
For him to learn every manoeuvre

There once was a fellow named Tang
He liked to smoke as he sang
But the smoke made him high
And his audience cry
Because when Tang sang their ears rang

A warrior whom all ought to fear
Came into town for a beer
While he was at the bar
The king declared war
And the warrior did shake his spear

There once was a poet named Regis
His Limericks had made him prestigious
His words always rhymed
his language sublime
There certainly were none egregious

was the Warrior an English bard by the name of William, by any chance?!!! This reads like A Comedy Of Errors, though the author certainly has his wits about him! You are unbeatable in this genre, Regis, and I'm beginning to wonder if you can STOP thinking in lyrics of limmericks now you are so hooked! I think they're addictive - at least, when I read them I immediately start to try to formulate them (unsuccessfully!) in my own head! Hats off again in a deep bow of appreciation. xx
