Feeling Kinda Glum, Down And Out, You Name It..... 7/29/2005 12:30:55 PM
A summer that is fizzling. The reason is: 1. Publish America has still NOT answered me about my 3rd book, submitted May 10th. A follow up email solved zip. I was told it takes longer for 3rd submissions. In the meantime, I could have tried to peddle my wares elsewhere. I have the good notion to ask for the material back and do just that. 2. I have a book proposal in London, England now. Not book 3 that is with PA, but book 4 that is. That has been gone since early April. No word from them, either. I emailed the office in New York to see if there was any progress. Just yesterday, and I sent the email a long time ago, I was informed they would "pass on the information". Great. So we are playing the waiting game....a game I absolutely loathe. Why? Because I feel like time is slipping through my hands and I haven't accomplished all I desire to. That's just me. I think a lot about the passing of time. When you realize it, a year has flown past your face faster than a hummingbird going for the red juice in a feeder. 3. The summer days are always hard for this person to tolerate. I have zero heat tolerance. Just can't stand it. It is just too uncomfortable to be hot and sweaty all the time---even when air conditioning is on. The worst is at night.
Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? I sure hope so. In the meantime, I do honestly try to learn patience. 'Fraid I'm not real good at it, though.
