Excerpt from my book This Side Of Heaven - Memoirs Of A Life Changed. Often times I’ve heard the Bible referred to as ‘A Love Letter from God’. I’ve always thought that was an interesting way to describe such an incredible book. It’s the one book that has been picked apart, exhaustively studied, and criticized. Yet, its message has remained the same for thousands of years. If the Bible was condensed into the form of a love letter, it might go something like this:
My Dearest Love,
I write to you so you will know my name, and you will know who I am. I want you to know of my great love for you, and that I’ve orchestrated a plan for you to be with me where I am. Though I won’t force you to come here against your will, the offer will only be available for a short time. My Son has the directions on how to get here, so make sure you see him first.
I don’t expect you to fully comprehend all that I have to say, so I will keep it simple. At times, it might be hard to understand all that I have planned for you, but trust me. You will not always feel my presence, but I am with you. Troubles will come, but they will not always be. Blessings will come, but they will not always be, at least not on this side of heaven. But rest assured that I will always be, for I have always been.
Though this letter may seem long, do not cease in reading it again and again, for each time you come back to my words will I reveal something new to you. Believe what I tell you, for my words are true. Heed each warning as well, so you will not have to suffer the pain of consequence.
Call on me often, for I long to hear from you. You can reach me at anytime, for I am as close as your own breath. In person, will I return to you, and soon.
