Blogs by Linda Law Packing for a plane flight is impossible!! - 10/28/2008 11:57:24 AMMy usual airline always has great fares and two free check in bags, plus 2 free carry on's...well... I missed the rates, but got a greater deal on another airline....so.... Are the cheaper fares better? NOOOOOO.... They do not give you ANY free check in bags...$15 for each bag...and...the carry on's have to be very small...like a purse/laptop bag, etc.... so... I am sitting here crying in my Kool-aid!!!! Will be gone for one month...it's cold there and hot here...AND...in order to get the really great rate, I have to change planes too...so... there goes another big problem...and (NO MAN TO GO WITH ME AND CARRY THE BAGS ETC)... SO... I've packed and repacked these two grimy old bags a dozen times! I've taken out stuff, and taken out more stuff...and still don't have a place for shoes!! SHOES...OH MY GOSH.... I'm a shoe freak...and can't just take those on my feet...so... now I'm starting all over again!!! Decided this tho..I will just have to pay..for the 2 bags...to check in... and will carry one big one with my purse and stuff inside it...!!! cheez...I'd have been better off paying the other cheap fare,going with my old carrier...and knowing what to expect!! So much for me learning to be frugal in my old age!!! Sometimes it's just better to buy real butter instead of oleo... you know! Okay... now I don't have a big suitcase to check in...so... have to use the old grimy regular sized one...and still have to take out the blow dryer and the curling iron (praying that my daughter has them, but I don't think she does) and..I'll take out some of the clothes (praying that I still have a bunch of winter things in her garage from last year)...and... I'll have to take out all that hair stuff I use, and all that lotion stuff since they threw away a really expensive bottle of lotion last time....they don't know how close they came to me actually bombing the darn place once they threw away that $45 bottle of much sacrificed for lotion... anyway... (I'm praying that I left some of that stuff back there too so I don't have to buy them again) and so as you can tell... I'm praying alot today... and.. I figure I'll just have to wear the same nitegown and robe every single day...and the same 3 skirts and Tshirts every day...and the same nice dress to every nice occasion...and.. if they decide to throw away my expensive perfume...well... be prepared to see me doing a Sarah Palin imitation....you know the one where she shoots the Caraboo ?? boohoo... I like it that way! Just thinking about all this packing stuff has me wondering about the flight too... they won't even have peanuts or chips for me... and I'm always starving when I'm nervous...so.. I'll have to spend my allowance for the trip on snacks at the airport I guess..kind of like going to a movie for $5 and the popcorn is $6, the drink is $5 and the candy is $4....could have gone to Outback instead... oh well... Guess I'd better stop fussing... and paste on a smile and wear my black flat suede boots everywhere I go for the next month... but I'm sure I have some slippers over there too... cheez... just wish good things for me... (the least of which is praying that there will be no terrorists on board, because at this point... the airlines have figured out how to sideline our worries to packing the damn bags instead of safety isues!!!!!!) So... I'll be seeing ya'll on the other end.. Nashville and beyond..... Til then... (hope I can pack this darn laptop without setting off bells and clangers either)... so... til then...
