Seeds are sown...then it's time for the harvest... even when unexpected! One thing that I have gained since being a member of AD is that I've met some wonderful people! Although each of us hopes that we will learn how to become better writers/authors, and we hope to publish and sell our works...after awhile we realize that the people we share with here on AD become like family in many ways.. We want to know how they are doing...we pray for each other...we encourage and uplift one another and we become personal friends with a few. Perhaps we do not become rich and famous...but for the most part we do see our work posted and when we are lucky, we receive nice reviews, and hopefully...we become enriched with the desire to continue with our personal purpose..
I've had two books published while a member at AD the past few months, and although I know I would publish anyway...the support and encouragement from my peers certainly were instrumental in the process. My third book is at the publishers waiting for me to make some minor changes and corrections, and two more books are on the way! My time on AD varies...sometimes I am on often, and other times I just stop in for a few minutes to check on friends, and then I get back to work, etc... So many, including myself will pull back when we are extra busy, or if we are hit with poor health or family issues, etc... so I suppose the bottom line to this is that we become familiar with one another and care! It's addicting and encouraging all at once... :-))
This morning...with complete surprise ... I received three THREE THREEEEEEE packages in the mail!!!! One was a complimentary copy of a book that I wanted to order, but funds are low right now...and so it was like MAGIC... A sweet written note accompanied the book...and I will read it soon and review it here. Thank you George! A second package contained a book from an author that I'm not familiar with; however...his book seemed very interesting and I expressed a desire to read it....and like MAGIC...it arrived...all the way from Australia!! The book has a beautiful cover, and included matching postcards. I can't wait to read this book...and will post a review for my fellow readers! Thank you Val! Well...the third package was truly a wonderful surprise... Inside the box were so many lovely gifts...that the tears just began to form, because I felt a rush of love and care from a fellow AD friend. A lovely, exquisite Indian beaded necklace for me to wear (I love southwest design and live in Arizona...so this gift was perfect!) A tall bottle of lotion that is specifically a calming one, with a piece of clear crystals.. Another gift is of a sculptured angel, and it contained a handwritten note from her son, as this is a special gift from him... I couldn't hold the tears as I read the note...and will treasure his gift most of all... I also received some beautiful silver measuring spoons in the shape of hearts!! Too pretty and unusual to ever use...or maybe I will...use them with love... hehe... This package was like Christmas morning...except I wasn't expecting Santa to arrive the day after Easter!! Thank you "C"....
I received three Thank You cards...from people who received and read my book(s)... (they purchased the books...they were not complimentary copies...which meant even more) because they each (they don't know one another) expressed how special the books are...and how a particular story touched them.. HOW WONDERFUL A GIFT IS THAT...to know that someone loves your work! Last Friday I received a fat envelope with a thank you card and a Catholic rosary!!! It was from a lady who read my book (she lives in Connecticutt) and she wanted me to know that she bought the book for herself, but had only read three stories, when her daughter stopped by and fell in love with the cover!!! She insisted that her mom give her the book... so...the lady wrote me to say that her daughter NEVER wants to read anything spiritual or pertaining to GOD...so this was a miracle to her....and so...she included a check with the rosary and ordered another copy! How blessed am I???????
When we share with love, we simply have to be prepared to accept the love and thanksgiving that often will come rushing or trickling into our lives! I am floating on air this morning...just because... YOU make my day worthwhile! Enjoy your day and may you have blessings abundantly! hugs, lindalaw
