DON'T BE TARDY FOR THE PARTY! It's been awhile...Hi! 9/27/2009 9:38:11 AM
It's been so long, and I heard this ditty "Don't Be Tardy for The Party" on TV the other nite, and realized...I haven't said HI in waay too long!! Although I have been away for longer than planned, I do try to come in and visit whenever I can...not often enough however! Missing many of you is easy to say, yet I know you are thinking...Sure....words come easy, actions are harder!
What I found amazing during my absence is that altho I haven't added any new works to AD in a couple months, the readers continue to comment, review, and leave messages..What a blessing that is! Continues to give me encouragement and support even when I haven't been giving any..I apologize.
George Carroll, Georg Mateos, the Ed's, Bonnie, Harold, John Domino, Lloyd, Randall, Rozzy, Kat, Stephanie, Cryssa, and so many more...my love and prayers continue.
Carol Surber, and Stuart McCallum, always in my heart and mind, wishing you well and much happiness. Belle is still smokin', Sage continues to sizzle, and Fee never stops surprising! Dear Rose has settled in her new home, Holly is still singing, and so many of you continue to write and entertain, bring joy and hope, and encouragement. Lucille never stops drawing us close, John Humperjohn continues to give writers a place to move up, The Flying Fox Ted keeps flying thru life, and Marsha also gives writers opportunity to display their work.. Karla and Karen, never forgotten..always in my prayers.. The list can go on and on, so if I failed to mention you...it's not due to forgetfulness, it's due to lack of space...you are always in my heart..and mind.
The job is still giving me an outlet for my energy, always busy, often struggling, and sometimes flying high.. I'm involved with a Craft Club, preparing for a Bazaar on Nov 21st...proceeds for our troops/vets.. I'm painting on canvas, painting on wood, cute wall decor for kitchens, bathrooms, shops..Preparing Glass Jars with Bean soup Mixes, Chicken Noodle Soup Mix, Cookie Mix, Spice Tea Mix, and so on... the lids are fun to decorate and make pretty with unusual fancy or funny themes... I've made dozens of fantastic laminated bookmarks, and Decoupaged a jillion jars and plaques!! I'm in the process of typing and designing pretty tags for the Jars/Instructions, etc... and always looking for more crafts to add to my collection..
Writing seems to be at the bottom of my timeline list for now..but we all know that our creativity comes in spurts...Working on "The Sheriff" mystery just about did me in...with the new job and all; then I changed publishers at the last minute...and now in the process of having that finalized so it can finnnnnnnnnnaly be published within the next 45 days or so!!! I haven't forgotten you!!!! The Third book of inspirational stories is also in the works...selecting, keeping promises, and fitting in/editing the stories to be included; and doing the final touches so that this book touches more lives than ever!
Just want to let you know too, that my books continue to sell...often slowly...but in spurts too... The most beautiful part is when a reader writes or calls, and says, "This book is written so well...and I felt every story as if I were in it!".... I've heard that so often, and my heart just pumps fast and full....and delights my entire being! The books I've written have also given me a following that I didn't know was possible...at least..for an unknown like myself. Many have asked me to have a writing class....and so, I have also been working on this subject as well. As a starter, the Community where I live and Manage has many events and classes for the residents and others, and I am planning on preparing and holding a Writer's Class.... basic fundamentals, with tasks and assignments/writing, and reading. We have a large Computer Room, where I can hold the classes, which will encourage the students to work in class as well as participate in the assignments. I would like to have 10 per class, and so far have about 14 people ready to begin!!!! I haven't even begun to recruit either, so this is quite encouraging... Thing is, everyone wants to write... whether they want to publish or not!! Many want to record their family history, to pass along to their next generation....simple basic information... Many want to write their Memoirs, or Cookbooks, and others want to write Articles, or simply find ways to write more easily... We all have the means, not always the ability... so.. my classes shall be simple, easy to follow, and fun!!! There are three other ladies in our Community who have written/published a book, but didn't do well with them... so I can help to make something that is difficult a tad more helpful in How to do booksignings, market, etc... This has been quite time consuming as well...preparing for a Writer's Class...but I know it is going to be worthwhile for them...and for me!
