MY BOOK IS SELLING...WHOOPIE....

Hi ya'll.... A rose among the thorns of everyday life...how cool is that! I haven't been pushing my new book like I did the others...but....fans are finding me! I love it!

I'm noisy for the most part...have an A personality; but that is just a cover for the insecure, timid woman underneath...the one most people don't really get to know. I write because ....well, you know why we write...it's like breathing. In the past I've published the books with true stories from the lives of others, with a tad here and there of my own experiences; however...this time...I just jumped in with both hands and the fingers went flying...as did my creative mind. WHO SHOT THE SHERIFF? was a seedling during the November National Novel MOnth 2 yrs ago, and I had so many great notices about the story, that I decided to go further and fine tune it for publishing. I'm so happy that I took that plunge.
I've had several online orders, and the publisher has reported some nice sales as well; however, I've had a surprise the past two weeks. At my office, as people come in and out, someone will ask, "Are you the author?" or "I've heard you write books." and so...I have a little stack of my books and bookmarks sitting in plain sight. I have been giving a slight discount when they buy in person, and I sign the book for them, but the point is to get the book out there for them to read...to share with others...to gain a following...right? Yes! This past week several residents have bought books...not just the inspirational ones...but my new mystery... WHO SHOT THE SHERIFF? happens to be the latest topic at the swimming pool lately, with ladies reading their own copy....and yesterday two ladies came in and asked, "Do you still have copies of your book in the office?" YES I ALMOST SCREAMED WITH JOY....AND SO... one lady said.."the gal in the bikini is reading your book and laughing so hard that I keep bugging her to tell me about it...and she said...go get your own!" She did.. She came and bought her own! Later, another came in and was laughing and said.."Oh Linda...I'm at he part about the funeral....and I can't put it down..." Later, another said...."I laughed so hard during the part where the mother in law picks out the casket..." and then she said... I am leaving for Canada on the first...and I want to take 3-4 copies with me as gifts....will yu have some in the office by then? YES, YES.... It's like magic... and I am so happy that they seem to be loving the story... and then...a couple have said, "I must have a copy of the new one when you get it done...." (I have an excerpt from the new book...THE CRYSTAL PISTOL SALOON....in the back of this book).. Oh... and I just packaged six books for one lady in Texas, and odds and end copies for different people that had ordered the last books... I've had to order two more cases, (barely making enough to order and pay s/h) but...we want to sell books don't we?
I'm just so excited that I wanted to share this...and give some of you hope that...when we least expect someone to take interest in our work(s)...like magic...whoosh...word gets around, and it's beautiful, happy, positive words about our work!
Okay...I'll stop being so hyper and calm down, and say I hope your day is wonderful...and don't stop writing...miracles do happen... hugs and stuff, lindalaw
