River of Denial

My intent is not to cause offense; I'm a registered Independent who voted for George W. Bush. However, all the wars we're waging to 'help' other nations seems senseless. If God had meant for ALL mankind to be one color, one creed, one thought, He would've made the world that way!
***I am behind our troops 150%!

The bush, burning red,
wants to dip its' roots
in the river of denial.
Folks die serving,
this dire Wizard of Oz.
The bush keeps yearning . . .
because he knows that
power's wonderous.

Among the bush . . . dead . . .
are innocent souls
from the river of denial.
Is dying vain?
Why wallow in such pain?
The bush keeps churning
because his cause is
oil . . . wonder lust.

The bush, short and squat
can't see the lot rot
in the river of denial.
No denying
he's no children dying.
Perhaps he's learning
because no Wizard
can be this blunderous.
