Greasy Beans

Better than magic beans!
Tomorrow I will be google-eyed canning Roma tomatoes, freezing jalapenos and stringing beans. The beans are a local variety folks around here would die for, Greasy Beans. They are quite long and have a round bean inside the size of a Tic-Tac.
The pod is tender and has no strings! When simmered about 3 hours, it has a meaty flavor. When you can find them, they go for about $10 a quart sized bag. I have about a five gallon bucket full picked from our best friend's garden. What a haul!
Again, I am rich. We ate some tonight with some buttermilk cornbread and baked eggplant. We are living off the fat of this land. I can't imagine life any other way.
