You Betcha! 10/7/2008 3:23:03 AM
Where is the plunger America? The news blab this week, is like castor oil. Horrible! Just horrible! Maybe reality will be like my toilet that requires a plunger frequently. Hey, we need to buy a new john, and with all the spin about not using credit, I have mental constipation! Enough of that!
The talk shows choke me up just thinking of our dilemna. They paint the bleakest picture imaginable. It has that John the Baptist feel to it. The cry in the wilderness is to save and stop using your home equity like an A.T.M.! My bucket has a hole in it like everyone else's. Someone please flip the happy switch!
I heard the word France in the banter. For someone like me with such an active imagination, that was all I needed. Dickens, you would have a time writing about us! America has withstood troublesome times before. It galvanized us. Can this be different?
Maybe it is Y2-K madness. I wonder if this millenium is off to a bad start and it was inevitable. All the hoopla about Obama and a so-called terrorist, is as disgusting as bad meat and not because he erred in some way. The error is in not grabbing the economic bull by the horns. If America falters, terrorism will seep in. Isn't that how it works?
A kid on a street corner who is offered money to blow up the local library... hey even his mother might do it to help pay the bills. If that is not the America we know and love, you betcha! I hope I am wrong here. I hope America is fundamentally loyal.
I hear the Queen of Mean talk and this is France. I am waiting for the infamous line. "Let them eat cake!" Sarah may say that next time. It wouldn't surprize me one bit. We are as divided as France during the revolution.
All those dirty blows made into soundbites are attempts to make heads roll. This perhaps soon to be peasant, is fed up. My book and my paintings give me a way out, an oasis. If only I could turn this quagmire into a new book. But this reality is too fresh to turn into fiction. If things get rough enough, I may have to chisel the next one onto a tablet.
