Happy New Year,
This past year has brough many joys and many sorrows. Since I'm sure this is the same in each of our lives I will not go into that. I will instead thank The Creator that we're all here this moment in Jan. 2007. I wish the best for each of you.
I have decided to make a more conscious effort to pray for the state of the world and not just do it when things get bad.
I haven't written down any resolutions because you all know what tops the list and since I have found I can't lose weight by writing it down and wishing i might as well forget it.
Yesterday morning we woke to our entire street filled with emergency vehicles. Seven fire trucks, nine police cars, and two ambulances, that I saw. Someone had driven their car into my neighbor's home. Luckily no on ewas home but the car took out the plumbing so the family can't even stay there. The entire front of the house was boarded up.
Out of all of the activity that was going on once agian I thanked God that one one as far as I knwo died in this.
I live in the suburbs of Chicago and I think all of the emergency equipment was a bit of overkill. YOu alreayd know what time I get up so to wake up and first hear all of the noise then to look out the window on this scene I thought our entire neighborhood was in danger. And make sure you're picturing really small streets.
I finished my galleys and I want to caution writers to make sure you check your galleys even when you're sick to death of reading the mss. I had a phrase in there about no account people. Someone decided to change it to ones with no accounts. Did I want to scream? Yes! Did I scream? Yes! Did I change it back? You'd better believe I did.
I am also thanking God for the fullfilling of my dreams and I will try not to complain about how much work it actually is. I never knew before I became a writer how much work is involved in putting a book out. Writing the book is the easy part. It's the part you enjoy and have fun. It's the creative side of the business. Hmmm this is beginning to sound already like I've just forgotten my thanking God. Okay I'll stop.
I am going to put some picture up and I'm going to have several contest during the New Year. Matter of fact for anyone that emails me from this post there will be a special contest where only the ones reading this will be able to win.
