Good Morning,
I suppose I shouldn't leave you hanging considering I asked you all to pray for my friend Fatima. I am moving more toward a place of acceptance. I'm not quite there because some days she's doing so well and I can't help but to still start to pray for a miracle. But I catch myself and stop.
But this blog isn't to make you depressed because believe it or not there has also been joy in my life in the past week. For one I interviewed none other than L. A. Banks. I've meet her a couple of times before and she was so very nice, not stuck up or thinking she was all that like a lot of writers tend to be.
And for the record people if I ever start behaving in that manner please just slap me. LOL. On second thought don't slap me because I will slap you back. Just remind me to cut it out. Although really and truly I think at my age I'm too old to start acting like a diva.
Okay back to L. A. Banks. She was so funny. I asked her if she was ever at books signing and people asked her what she was doing. And she said yes, that when she's in Wal-mart surrounded by her posters and books people ask her for directions and if they can return things to her. She told me that now when she signs in Wal-mart she just goes, "Welcome to Wal-mart. you know we were all cracking up.
Leslie/L.A. brought two members of her street team, Alicia and Candace and Barbara Keaton was one of the street team for the day. After the shoot (did I mention that L.A. came to Bolingbrook to do my local cable show? I don't think I did. My bad.
Anyway, after the show I took her and the street team to the Borders in town for her to sign stock and then to the new Barnes and Nobel to do the same. At the Barnes and Nobel my new book and first vampire, In the Beginning, was sitting on the counter. Leslie, Barb and Candace bought copies. I want to thank the ladies for their support.
I didn't go with the street team back into Chicago but Barb told me that all of L. A.'s signings were a huge success. I had been waiting for this day for so long that I hadn't wanted to do a lot of talk about it before hand and jinx it. Except for dropping my mike and having to get up I was able to talk and I guess it wasn't so bad because Leslie said she would come on the show next year when she blows through town.
Any of you out there that love paranormal, Please give L. A. Banks books a try. She has two of the that have already been optioned for movies. I can't wait. I am such a fan of hers. And I absolutely adore Carlos.
