Good morning,
First I have to say that I have no idea how so many errors were in my last post. First off when I write and something is incorrect it's underlined in red and I correct it. So tell me why by chance I went to the last message and opened it and saw all of the errors. I know I deal with hmm...ghosts in other areas of my life.
This is the deal if there are mistake blame the ghost. LOL.
I want to relay a very sad story before this year ends. In the last few weeks I've talked with four authors who have decided to give up writing. The reason varied from, the writing taking over their lives, tired, just don't want to do it to the most common bad reviews.
All writers know that this is a part of the business. And we all know that the chances for having our work published are so high and the rejections given out far exceed the number of letters written to authors saying, "We'd love to buy your book."
But it seems easy to forget that when something that you enjoyed doing, characters that you love are being ripped to pieces. It's time like those when it's so nice to have a group of writer friends that know how hard it is to keep you going.
Editors are not in the habit of buying bad books. That's the truth of the matter. Do they think every single reader will love all of the books they put out? Of course not!
My friends are aware of this but still they have grown tired of it. If I mentioned the names you all would gasp in shock and say what a shame. And it is a shame because these women are talented.
So I want to end this year by saying thank you to all of the wonderful readers out there who have personally sent me letters telling me how much they love my work and how something in it resonated with you. I print out all of those letters and laminate them so that I can read them when I'm having a bad day. My friends I'm sure also have such letters but I guess it wasn't enough.
Thank you for sticking with me, for writing me, for ignoring Amazon and reading the books anyway.
And I want to thank Randall for letting me know that I'm not alone here on authorsden. If it wasn't for you I'd be sure I was talking to myself. Thank you for preventing the men in white coats from coming to claim me. I wish you the best in the coming year. Take care and Happy New Year.
And to anyone else out there, I wish you a Happy New Year also. One last think I checked this message and there are no mistakes so if you see any they were put there by the ghost. BOO!!
