Bolingbrook Il. More happens here than Drew Peterson 12/4/2007 4:01:10 AM
Good morning all,
For over a month now my hometown has been in the news. Speculation is that Drew Peterson a former Bolingbrook police office killed his wife Stacy and his third wife's body was exhumed and the murmurings are that he killed her also.
All of the local news stations have been camped out here the entire time. Geraldo had even been to our town. It hasn't helped that Drew Peterson has given interviews to any talk show it seems that will have him.
We've had several presidential candidates come through and it never garnered this much attention. I've lived here for 33 years and most times I had to tell people I was from Chicago because they had never heard of Bolingbrook.
Let me begin by saying, NO I do not know Drew Peterson. Yes, I know where he lives. Bolingbrook is not that small. Did I go past his home. Yes, I did. This was the first week when I couldn't believe how this was staying in the news.
I do know that this has tainted Bolingbrook and the police department. I don't think that's fair. I happen to have had contact with several officers on the force and they're good officers. One of the ex police chiefs was a friend.
I'm not saying that no wrong doing has never or will never be done by any of our officers. They're human.
What I want the ones of you who will read this to know is that Bolingbrook is a diverse town that offers the best schools around. Our mayor who I'm sure in the end will also take flax for this has brought a ton of improvements and businesses to our town. In the next week or so I'm going to go over town and take pictures and post them on my website. I don't know how to post them here so you will have to look on my website for them. But I want you to see the Bolingbrook that I live in.
I hope as do everyone else that Stacy will be found alive, but like most of you I have my doubts. I am trying to remember that Drew Peterson is innocent until proven guilty. And I want all of you to have something else to think about when you hear the name Bolingbrook Il. Think nice place to raise your kids, good schools, good police department. excellent fire department and now a new hospital, new and first ever mall for us. A new toll road that connects us to the rest of the expressways and tollroad. 355. We already had the Stevenson or 55.
So when you think of Bolingbrook think of romance writer, Dyanne Davis, inspirational author, Michelle Larks and Toni Akers, Women fiction author, Nikki Woods. I know there are a lot more writers in town but these ladies just happen to be friends of mine. Think of us. Thanks.
