I watched three (3) soldiers on TV who had been injured in
Iraq. Two of them their faces burned beyond recognition. Here

is the gist of what they said.
They would go back and do it again, even knowing what they
now know! All the other soldiers they knew feel the same way.
They believe the ones who don't want to be there are in the
low minority! They all believe they are fighting for a just cause.
They don't understand why people are so angry about it and
ask this question,
Why do you want to deny us the right to fight for our country ,
just because you don't want to ?
If you want to protest the war you have the right to do it, but
don't say you are for us. we hear that crap all the time, "you're
for the warrior but not the war." You can't separate the two!
One asked "Who gave them the right to make our decisions
for us?" If they don't want to fight for their country fine,they don't
have to, but don't tell us that we can't.
They are tired of hearing the same old protest that claims to
love them, while constantly shouting to take their right to fight
away.
They all said these people don't speak for them, but only for
themselves and they have the right to do so, only please stop
saying you care about them because it's a lie, you care about
your own causes and your right to make your agenda known
through protest.
They feel that if you cared you wouldn't act as if the enemy
terrorists they are fighting against are more just ,than they are.
They each said to protest all you want, but please stop acting
like you are protesting for us, that is a lie! Because
they feel that the protesters in the way they do it are making
their life harder and the war more difficult , and that protesters
don't seem to care about that aspect of it.
My question is do any of you "peace seekers" ever listen to
what the soldiers themselves want?
When you say you are for the solidiers because they are only
doing what they are told to do, did you ever realize that they do
it with pride and honor and don't like it when others speak for
them as if they should be ashamed of what they are doing?
Do you not realize that your right to protest is one of the
reasons they are fighting for?
Couldn't you at least show them respect, by not claiming to
care about them, when all you do is question their right to be
where they are, fighting for their country, because they
consider it an honor to do so!
I say, please go ahead protest all you want , no one can stop
you, from shouting out your hatred , but please stop the lies.
I've read all the poems I can stand about how much you love
our soldiers while you do everything you can to make their
lives miserable,because you believe your ideals, are more
important than theirs!
All they ask is that you speak for yourselves , because you
aren't speaking for them!
We can hate war, but when it becomes a fact ,denying the
rights of people to fight it ,is not how to go about seeking
peace!

I respect all critics , especially my peers who were friends, but the three soldiers represent the point I had wanted to make because they were so horribly wounded.
However I've seen many soldiers say this same thing, and besides tv have in fact 2 friends of mine whose boys are in Iraq right now, plus 1 nephews. I don't take war lightly it is hell and I hate it. I equally hate those who fog the issue by not speaking facts.
For example this blog was strictly to say protest all you want but be honest. Neither you nor I have the right to tell these soldiers how what, where or when to fight and that was the reason for this blog!In simple language stop claiming you love the soldier then say you want them home disregarding their rights to do as they choose. They did volunteer, or do you forget that fact? Why must you who claim to be for peoples rights, always want to take others away from them? I wrote this and five people immediately wrote to debunk what I said, then cry foul about others speaking against them, Isn't that hypocrisy? What are they defending? For peacemakers they sure do love a good word fight! Do they forget that words can kill also?
