Tell me if you know what truth is?
Written mid 2004
I went looking around for truth
to see where it was hiding
It immediately told me it was in
plain view that people
had just stopped using it,
but it was always available
Tell me if you know what truth is?
When people form different opinions
of the same exact scenario, does that
change the truth of a statement?
Or does it just change, because of the
mind set of the way one perceives it?
How can you tell which one grasps
the truth of a matter, when
it is seen in a variety of ways.
We don't all see through the same lens,
we each bring our own baggage, upbringing, environment,faith,bias,self-analysis, etc
Does all that have anything to do with
truth of a statement?
It seems that people who protest, whatever
the reason, pro/con whether its, war, abortion,
gay marriage, prejudice, or any other issue,
for the most part forget what truth is.
We blur the truth about abortion.
Who wants to believe aborting
a baby is murder. oops is it?
What is the truth? Is it left to the
individual to decide?
If a fetus(baby;) is feeding off the
mother through the umbilical cord,
wrapped in a sac of protective water
in the womb, while growing all of its
parts, and can move, have a heartbeat,
etc does that represent life?
To me it does, how about you?
Therefore if you destroy that life, isn't
that the same as destroying any life?
What is the plain truth of that situation,
seen through the eyes of reason, with
no judge or jury, no guilt,just your
own perception?
Even when starting out with a fact,
discussing something, we seem to
make up our own truths to get a point
across, forgetting the fact we started out with.
If I say," Islamic terrorists from a group
called Al Qaeda are responsible for 9/11"
it is a known fact.
Yet, that truth is argued every day by many
saying the fault can be traced back to America,
and the way leaders did things or didn't do them.
However, does any objection or reason you may
come up with, change the truth of the statement,
that Al Qaeda terrorists are responsible for 9/11?
People arguing cause and effect, Looking for
others to blame, when they have an issue,
distort and in some cases destroy the facts
of situations, bent on diminishing or even
abolishing the truth.
That's how, even our histroy books
have been defiled!
How often we destroy the truth when it
concerns matters of romance ,lust, and
all things pertaining to what we put under
the banner of "love".
It is almost impossible to chronicle the truth
in matters of love. Most of us use the word
love so nonchalantly, and have added so
many wrong derivations of it, as to have
almost destroyed its true meaning.
I'll simply say learn who Creator is, and you'll
learn what love means!
That is the crux of the matter. Truth gets left
by the wayside when people want to accomplish
their goals at any cost!
Truth becomes an enemy to anyone who
must rationalize a situation in order to live
with it. That's self-deception.
Isn't it a fact that we blur the truth to assuage
our guilt?
Truth...almost imossible to live with, yet,
we perish without it!
We are perishing in the world today as
it heads towards destruction, having cast
off the mantle of truth!
Truth shines like a beacon of light, always
there ready to guide us if we choose to
use it!
Truth=sincerity-honesty-conformity with fact-
reality-actual existence-correctness-accuracy
an established fact.
Pragmatism=Testing the validity of all concepts
by their practical results
