They are called throwaways Time after time I have read articles about how our
government is to blame for what's happening to our
children. In conversations with friends and
acquaintances, in church and school groups, it is often discussed, argued about and very little action ever taken. It seems we vent our frustrations, then forget about it, until the next get together. Words words, words,never any action!
First of all parents are responsible for their children.
If there are no parents other family members should
be next in line. If there is need for government
services that should come last.
The fact that government offers assistance.does not
mean everybody should use it. It is there for those who
are in need and can't do without it.
This society has become unglued and confused
about families and what their obligations are. We also
tend to think that as soon as there is a problem the
government should be able to fix it.
When did the government become the be all and
end all of our system? I read where someone thinks
that the reason all the children are becoming
throwaways, and are having problems is because
government programs are being cut. HUH?
The taxpayers are now paying for more giveaway
programs than ever before in history! We have been
a welfare nation.for years now with ever-expanding
programs costing fortunes.
Why haven't they helped? Why haven't they diverted
the problems with our youth from happening if they
are so good? Why are the youth in more disarray
than ever before? They have had all kinds of help
from government services, for decades!
No folks, I'm sorry, government is not the answer.
People have been born in hovels living on dirt floors
and have made it to the top of their profession. Many
have been raised in poverty and have become famous stars,
politicians,heroes, in all walks of life and in all kinds
of careers. You can read their biographies and be
amazed at what they had to overcome and did!
The problem with our society is the attiude that
whenever there is a problem, we go for the quick fix.
We have that "cover it with a band-aid" syndrome,
that never works.
Children need loving care, a family that can give
them the value system that will make them
responsible for their actions. They need to be
disciplined and loved!
If a family runs into hard times and seeks assistance
it is there for them. However, it should not be a way of life, which it has become in too many instances.
Unless there is disability or the like, that requires it.
Our youth are being short changed in this present
culture. Both parents working, no one home for
them. Families split up, most kids raising themselves
today. We have a corrupt school system,that is
teaching them nothing! They live according to TV
Hollywood films , and computer games.
Then we ask why they are in trouble? They are in
trouble for they consider nothing sacred. They live
life doing as they please with no guidance. With
parents from a generation that assumes the
government should take care of everything.
The government is the problem, not the solution!
The solution is caring parents who take the time to
teach values to their children , discipline them and
shower them with the love they deserve. The "Me"
generation is now reaping what they have sown.
Too many cared more for themselves than making a
home for their family and giving their children the
time and love necessary for their well being.
We are a society that has dropped the ball when it
comes to family life and if we continue to deny it,
our complacency will show in future generations of
leaders who don't know how to lead. That is when
this nation will truly be brought to its knees!
