A Real Christian Cannot Continue to Sin 4/10/2009 3:00:04 AM
Can a real Christian be capable of murder? I doubt it.
When a person accepts Jesus Christ, he opens his heart to the Savior in a verbal, audible and sincere confession, repenting of his sins and accepting the fact that only Jesus Christ can save his soul from the bondage of sin and from hell. At the moment of this confession, the Holy Spirit comes and indwells the person and he becomes a Christian with the new birth and so his life becomes changed from the inside. Becoming a Christian is not joining a church or a denomination and becoming a member. It is a spiritual rebirth done by the Holy Spirit, "Unless a man be born-again he cannot enter the kingdom of God." (John 3:5)
When the person becomes a Christian in the Biblical sense of the word, he is owned by God. "Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12)
Because he is owned by God, Evil cannot touch him, he cannot be possessed by evil and do wrong. "We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe and the evil one cannot harm him." (1 John 5:18)
Jesus Christ prayed for all believers and their protection from the evil one, "My prayer is not that You take them out of the world, but that you protect them from the evil one."
(John 17:15)
The difference between a true Christian a fake "Christian"
is easy to see. "From out of the mouth the heart speaks."
(Matthew 12:14) What comes out of his mouth glorifies God and all of his words come from the truth, the Word of God,
not from religious doctrines, traditions, and useless rituals. A true Christian gives glory to God alone, not to saints or human beings glorified by organized religion.
A true Christian never prays to idols, never prays repetitious prayers like the rosary, babbling repeatedly like mantras, does not kneel to idols made of stone and wood (See Isaiah and the second commandment), confesses directly to God -"If we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." ( 1 John 1:9)
And lastly - a true Christian knows where he is going after he dies. Jesus Christ assured him of that.
Now- ask yourself if you are a true "Christian" or the counterfeit one?
